The corpus consists of 36 conversations (each conversation of aprox. 10 minutes). Conversations are divided into three levels of language acquisition: elementary, intermediate and advanced. In each level 4 conversations are symmetric and 8 asymmetric (with a native speaker).
The interactions are semi-spontaneous as informants received only some previous general information on the interactive tasks they had to accomplish. There are 4 types of tasks: two in informal situations (conversations between friends aimed to choose a gift or between roommates to solve a problem with the rent), one in a semi-informal situation (conversation with a stranger during a dinner with friends) and one in a formal situation (interview for a babysitting job).
Informants are students of the Spanish National Language Schools (at Segovia and Valencia), so they all have basically learned Italian in an institutional setting. There is also a small control group of of 4 conversations between two Italian native speakers. The conversations were registered in April and May 2006.
